Level 3 Chemistry

Subject Description

Teacher in Charge: Ms J. Stephens, Mr S. Berndt.

Learning in Chemistry is fundamental to understanding the world in which we live and work. Chemistry is the “central science” having an overlap with both Biology and Physics and as a consequence, combines well with either of these. This course is designed for students who have an interest in Science and intends to continue to tertiary study. Level 3 Chemistry is an academic course with the focus being on the three external achievement standards. For success in this subject, students ideally would have passed two of the three Level 2 Chemistry NCEA External Standards. Each student will be assessed in approximately 20 credits from the menu of standards available.
